Three strands of 550 cord = 1650 lbs breaking strength / 150lb soldier = 11:1 safety factor. Not bad guys.
It doesn’t pass the whistle test, but the term “acceptable loss” is used a lot more in the military than in the rope rescue world.
Really though, it’s just a great picture of how soldiers will get a job done no matter what the conditions. Wouldn’t it be nice if we were all this driven!
